Seafood (community)

Where can I find information about which species of seafood are caught sustainably, are they suffering from overfishing or even endangered, so I can make an informed choice as a consumer in New Zealand?

This Australian site is close to fully answering your question.
It offers suggestions on choice preferences based on sustainability.
Although some fish/seafood is Australian, there will be cross-overs to NZ that match - and info to suit you.

Available online via websites run by EWG and EDF (both based in North America) are pdf "pocket shopping guides" showing what fish are safe to eat from a sustainability perspective as well as a health perspective - ie how many servings are suitable with regard to mercury, toxins etc. They are, of course, relevant to that market and were very handy to refer to while doing your groceries. It would be great if the same was available relevant to the NZ market.

Kate, are you in a position to create a listing of NZ fish, forward to ONF (or me) and we both can work on creating our own data base ?

What happened to Hamish ?
Did he die ?
Was there an issue he was having difficulty with ?
Were there personal issues seemingly impossible to deal with ?
Has he managed his personal issues now ?

If so, then please address this web-site.
Either remove it from public view, or activate it.
