Organic vs grass-fed vs grain-fed beef: what're the differences?

Sanitary conditions in some modern feedlots (grain-fed cattle) can be comparable to those in a crowded European city during the Middle Ages, when people dumped their chamber pots out the window, raw sewage ran into the streets and epidemics raged.
Today’s cattle packed into feedlots get little exercise and live amid pools of manure. They become prone to all sorts of illnesses.
The rise in grain prices has encouraged the feeding of less expensive materials to cattle. Especially with high protein that accelerate growth. About 75 % of cattle in USA were fed livestock waste, rendered remains of dead sheep and dead cattle - until August 1997. They were also fed millions of dead cats and dead dogs every year, purchased from animal shelters. FDA banned this practice when Great Britain suggested this was a cause of “mad cow disease”. Nowadays, the above feed are banned, but dead pigs, dead horses and dead poultry are still allowed to be fed to cattle in USA. (Poultry are also allowed to be fed dead cattle). Cattle blood is still allowed to be put into cattle feed.
When one asks about differences between organic, grass and grain fed beef, one must question what the actual feed is. Grain may sound nice, but it is added to as above. Organic and grass fed cattle are ok (as long as the medicines don't concern you in the grass fed).
