Camel meat is ok, why the mismanagement ?
Camel meat is low in fat, a source of protein and has low cholesterol. It is free-range (chemical free) and camels also produce milk, hides and leather.
Australia is culling camels, at a cost of up to $40.00 per beast but not using the product for any gain.
The government tells us that the camels are being killed humanely. By expert marksmen in helicopters. It is unlikely an Olympian Shooter could kill humanely from a helicopter. The camels would be terrified watching the slaughter. Most camels would be shot numerous times before death as the expert marksmen would easily be shooting thighs, feet, ears initially.
All hunters will tell you that they enjoy an adrenalin rush called "The Thrill of the Kill" and it is addictive.
There are upwards of a million camels in Australia and they cause enormous damage to grazing land, fences and water systems. They smash houses and plumbing in search of water.
Why is the Australian Government not introducing a de-sexing program instead of inhumane killing ?
Why is it not exporting camel meat to countries in need ?
Why is camel not marketed like beef or lamb ?
