Is there a miracle berry ?
Reports of a "miracle berry", native to West Africa, which scrambles flavour perception so that sour foods taste sweet, and sweetness is magnified (lemon tastes like lemonade, tomatoes into cherry, etc). The newspaper report I have does not state the "miracle berry" name.
Does anyone have further information on this ?

The "miracle berry", or "miracle fruit", is actually ***Synsepalum dulcificum*.** The molecules responsible for this change in taste are called *Miraculin*, so sometimes the entire miracle berry is referred to using that name.

It does indeed sound pretty awesome. I first heard about it on TV maybe in 2002 and always wanted to try it!
